Reusable Grocery Tote! Not too long ago I was on my way from the airport after what seemed like a grueling trip and I got a call from my wife that I needed to stop by the grocery store on the way home and pick up a few items. Of course, the last thing I wanted was to stop anywhere, let alone the grocery store. I just wanted to get home, take a long, warm shower, and kick my feet up for a few minutes. But the boss called, I answered, and I had my orders - pick up stuff for dinner or don't eat. So, I kept my complaints to myself, and wheeled the car into the supermarket parking lot. Jumping out of the car, I had made up my mind to make this one super fast trip. In fact, I had committed myself to breaking my all time personal best of getting in and out of the grocery store in less than five minutes. So, I ran through the store, grabbing the things that I needed and made a dash towards the self checkout lines. I could make it in less than 5 minutes! But, when I tried to scan my items, nothing happened. No sounds, no beeps, no nothing. Then I looked at the terminal. Ughhh! It was down. That killed my attempt to end up in the Guiness Book! I headed toward the express lanes, but found they were closed. Seems like the grocer was going to make it as difficult as possible for me to get home and relax. So, I hopped into line behind this older lady, who they were just beginning to ring out. Just as she started to set her items on the conveyor belt, she was asked, "Paper or plastic."

"Neither," she answered, "I have my own." With that, she pulled out five canvass grocery totes and handed them to the bagger. I couldn't understand it. Especially with all these perfectly good plastic or paper sacks waiting to be used. In fact, previous to that day, I often wondered why people went through the hassle of bringing their own sacks to the store. It seemed like such a pain. Well of course, me being the curious type, I had to ask her why. "Ma'am," I started, "can you tell me why you prefer the reusable grocery sacks?"

She smiled. "Well, it's simple. When I heard plastic was not the greatest thing for our land fills, I quit using it for groceries right away. I started to use paper sacks. But then, it occurred to me, as I was sitting outside in my back yard that I ought to start using reusable totes."

"What happened to make you change your mind?" I anxiously asked.

"You see young man, I have this wonderful shade tree out back. It's been out there as long as I 've been in my house, which is going on 50 years. I really love my shade tree, and it would really upset me if someone cut it down.So it occurred to me that by me using paper sacks each time I went to the grocery store, in effect, what I was doing was depriving someone who may not even be born yet, of the pleasure of having a wonderful shade tree in their yard. I know it's not much, but it's how I do my part.."

Paper or plastic. Well, I think I'll consider the reusable tote.  Imprinted re-usable grocery totes are an excellent idea to give to your customers.  Since they are re-usable, you will get the benefit of continual impressions.  Their durability assures you messages will make a positive impact for days, weeks, and maybe even years to come.  Details are below.
