Not too long ago I was on my way from the airport after what seemed like a grueling trip and I got a call from my wife that I needed to stop by the grocery store on the way home and pick up a few items. Of course, the last thing I wanted was to stop anywhere, let alone the grocery store. I just wanted to get home, take a long, warm shower, and kick my feet up for a few minutes. But the boss called, I answered, and I had my orders - pick up stuff for dinner or don't eat. So, I kept my complaints to myself, and wheeled the car into the supermarket parking lot. Jumping out of the car, I had made up my mind to make this one super fast trip. In fact, I had committed myself to breaking my all time personal best of getting in and out of the grocery store in less than five minutes. So, I ran through the store, grabbing the things that I needed and made a dash towards the self checkout lines. I could make it in less than 5 minutes! But, when I tried to scan my items, nothing happened. No sounds, no beeps, no nothing. Then I looked at the terminal. Ughhh! It was down.
